A fair society doesn’t only mean “fair”
but also “equal”. A fair society refers to any society with equality and
fairness for every individual that belongs to a community. A fair society also
includes unbiased justice and freedom for all because everyone has the freedom
to speak, to know, and to participate in every particular event in a society.
Every member of a society should be fair in gender, race, age, disability and
religious beliefs they have. Having equal opportunities, education, health
services, rights and most importantly respect that can make a society fair.
Achieving a fair society is hard to
implement in reality because of the problems a community have such as dishonest
government. In the Philippines, our society is considered unfair because of
unequal opportunities for the poor because until now many families are still
starving and suffering every minute of their lives. An example of an unfair
society are the job qualifications that applicants must acquire in order to be
qualified in that specific job, but on the other side the government doesn’t
give job qualifications for individuals who wants to be a government official
in a particular position in the government. This shows that in the government,
the most powerful person is the one suited for a position and it also shows
unfairness for others who need competency for them to be qualified. In my
opinion, the government should also give qualifications in every position for
every official because it’s also a job.
Everyone can show fairness to others by giving them chances for them to show their motives and ideas in building a tough society. Resolving the main conflict of unfair society is very meaningful step for humankind because being fair is obviously the real justice. The importance of having a fair society is that everything within that society is balanced in all aspects in the right way. In the end, it can be achieved by the humanity’s ability to be fair-minded to develop better relationships with those around them.
